A fantastic, transcendental transmutation transports a young scientist, Leonora, into the ancient Magi Queendom of the Apini. Guided by the enigmatic, genius Supreme Magi Sage, Leonora gets to know the strange world of facet-eyed, winged beings, their time-honored, matriarchal culture, everyday life and quaint customs. Within and outside the phantasmal Magi dwelling, Leonora sees the world from the size and perspective of a Magi Bee-being and experiences a mind-boggling array of spectral and sensory perceptions and wild, nightmarish dangers. At a spectacular gathering Leonora comes eye-to-facet-eye with awesome global, Magi Sages. She is confronted, accused and enlightened in electrifying debates. Notable Twenty First Century Science Fiction August 24, 2004 Tom H. (Arizona, USA) Accused By Facet-Eyes is an excellent 21st Century science fiction story notable for its authoritative, contemporary message that relates the pressing environmental problems facing humanity and honeybees, spliced into a fantastic and exciting tale. I liked the wealth of descriptive imagery that brings to life a bizarre Magi bee world, populated with enchanting Magi honeybee characters that are refreshing and pure fantasy, not the usual anthropomorphized creatures. They merely share sufficient physical similarities with bees so that the story can make its point. After reading this thoughtful tale and the edifying author's note, my appreciation and sympathy for honeybees has increased tremendously. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an enjoyable and meaningful reading experience.
A Gem of Science-Fiction/Fantasy July 23, 2002 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
C.B.Don presents a gem of contemporary science-fiction...a treasured rarity. This fantastic tale is a bizarre mix of science and a fictional millenia-old bee-world in a dazzling setting. The characters are painted vividly with great imagination. The life style and habits of the Magi bee-beings and their spectral perceptions of the world about us seem to be sheer fantasy, but are mostly wonders based on true scientific facts. The fable-like tale is a reminder to humanity of forgotten stewardship and duty to our planet and is presented with a remarkable new flavor. This engaging novel is a delight in prose and lighthearted, meaningful verses from the front cover onward. Educational and entertaining for young and adult fans of nature and fantasy. I really enjoyed this book and will re-read it may times over!
A new approach to environmental issues April 3, 2002 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think this is a great way to enlighten readers of all ages about environmental problems. In recent times, ecological issues have been pushed to the wayside but this book brings them to light in an innovative and creative way. C.B Don has a wonderful imagination yet is obviously very knowledgeable about the subject matter. A+ for her and for Accused by Facet-Eyes!
Easy to pick up, hard to put down! April 3, 2002 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Accused By Facet-Eyes is the memorable science-fiction novel of humanity called to account for their depredations upon planet earth by the insect like Magi Queendom. A fantastic, mind-numbing journey through a world of alien perceptions and multifaceted vision, Accused By Facet-Eyes creates an amazing, captivating world that is unlike our own and yet all too close. C. B. Don is an original and superbly skilled storyteller who blends science fiction, fantasy, and environmental elements into one of those works of speculative fiction so easy to pick up and so difficult to put down.

This book was a blast. I'm a busy mom and generally don't have time to sit down and read for pleasure but I burned through this book in no time. More attention does need to be paid to our eco and food supply. It seems the only time you really hear about some the dangers to our eco or our food supply is at a state fair of all places!!! The is based on sciencific fact which makes it both science fiction and science fact!
