The Guardian QuietSource 45,000 watt liquid-cooled standby generator features an automotive style, liquid-cooled engine, Generac's exclusive patent-pending Whisper-Test technology and a corrosion-resistant aluminum enclosure option for durability. With an engine that designed for a car to run for thousands of miles, this QuietSource generator is sure to provide you with back-up power for years to come.

At the heart of the generator is a powerful 4 cylinder 2.4 liter engine, the same type of engine designed to power automobiles. This water-cooled engine runs on clean-burning natural gas or LPV and meets all EPA and CARB emissions requirements. The generator consumes 4.81 gallons of LPV per hour, or 437 cubic feet of natural gas per hour.

The generator automatically sends power through your home's electrical system during a power outage.

Built with exclusive Whisper-Test technology, the Generac Guardian standby generator can give you the power you need without the added noise. Whisper-Test reduces noise to a whisper by lowering engine speed during the generator's automatic seven day test of your system. (This test allows you to verify that your generator is in peak operating condition at all times.) The Whisper-Test sound level during these tests is comparable to a car at idle and is 50 percent quieter (63 dBA) than most other standby generators in its class. Generac's transfer switches (sold separately) are engineered and tested to work as a system with this generator.

This generator is also specially certified in standby applications for air quality management districts. Standby application means that it is certified for operation of not more than 200 hours per year. The generator is equipped with a special air/fuel ratio controller and catalytic converter in order to meet the stringent standards for exhaust emissions.

Maintenance is a breeze, thanks to the generator's convenient design features. A hinged top and removable front panel offers quick and easy access for maintenance and servicing, and a new textured, powder coat paint process provides consistent coverage and better bonding to seams and exposed edges providing, which translates to a durable, long-lasting, tough finish that can withstand the elements. The enclosure also includes key locks for safety and sound-absorbing panels for exterior noise reduction. The generator measures 76.8-by-33.5-by-45.1 inches (LxWx H) and weighs 1464 pounds.
