This motion-sensing light is triggered when you enter its 23-foot range, so it can light your way without staying on all night. The Solar-Powered Floodlight is powered by the pre-installed rechargeable battery, so you won't need to replace batteries constantly, and it will even work during power outages. There's no electricity needed to power the Solar-Powered Floodlight. With no wires to run, you can install this solar light in minutes. A 14-foot cable between the solar panel and the light lets you place the security light where you need it while allowing the solar panel to be installed facing the sun. This solar light will even work in cloudy weather, up to two weeks without any sunlight! A built-in photocell lets the Solar-Powered Floodlight know when it's dark, so it won't waste battery and bulb life by burning during daylight hours. This gadget is a real help. When I took the dog out after dark I was negotiating a flight of stairs with one hand on the leash and the other on a flashlight. Since I'm in my 70s this was not wise. Now the photo-sensor picks up our motion, completely lights the steps, and I can hold onto the railing with the free hand. The solar cell charged up in 3 days as promised even though we had cloudy weather. I am waiting to see if I'll have enough solar power for the extra light needed when the days get shorter and the nights get longer.

I purchased the Solar Powered Floodlight by Smarthome at the end of June and we love it. I bought a different one at a local, big blue hardware store, and it doesn't work as well as this one. We needed light in our backyard for safety and our dogs as we live on a nice piece of land with a path behind us. It is hard to see the dogs at nighttime when they go out to do their business. The other floodlight that we bought about 1 month before this one, doesn't pick up our dogs when they are in the yard. The only one also only stays on for a few seconds. The Smarthome picks up on our dogs when they are in the yard and it picks up people who walk behind our fence at night and with the time adjustment, it works so much better. I would recommend this product to anyone and, I actually have. My husband and I may purchase a few more to light up the rest of our property for safety and the dogs.
